I undertook a fantastic three day shoot at London’s O2 arena covering Campus Party 2013. For those that have never heard of Campus Party before, it’s an annual tech party for the hacker, developer & *ahem* geek community. The strapline for the event is “Glastonbury for Geeks”. It’s a huge festival with over 5,000 people per day expected over the five day festival.

We kicked off on the Sunday before the event for the massive install. Across from the main arena in what used to be the David Beckham Academy, the guys at O2 had erected 1,600 tents to accomodate their visiting guests from around the world.

I had expected it to be busy, but the cues were truly immense with the holding area snaking through the centre of the arena.

As was to be expected, the majority of ‘Campuseros’ were male, but in amongst them were a handful of stunning women that were clearly at the wrong event ;0)

Although with many of the guests arriving from mainland Europe by coach that very morning, there were a few casualties in the arena.

The afternoon session was just as busy as the morning as we kicked off with a cracking portrait session with Campus Party hosts Telefonica’s UK CEO Ronan Dunne.

Day three’s afternoon session covered the visit of British Chancellor George Osborne’s to the festival. He had a great meet-and-greet with the Campuseros.
