Wild Swim!

LYNCHPIX

I got a shout from the guys at Metro for a ridiculously early start in the south of England with my old mate Warren Pole. You may well remember him from previous posting ‘Tri-Hard’ where he completed a DIY triathlon of the capital loosely based on the official Olympic course. This time around, my crazy friend was gonna take a refreshing dip in the river Ouse- A stunning waterway that snakes through the counties of Sussex. We headed to Barcombe Mills, a picturesque spot where a number of smaller waterways feed into the main river.

We were following a new mobile app called ‘Wild Swimming Britain’, an extremely accurate app that guided us to exactly where we needed to be with simple worded instructions (not like your dreaded robotic SatNav).

It was an absolutely stunning spot with not a soul around for miles…

Our man sat for a moment taking it all in, before lowering himself into the cool water.

It was a bit of a slippery entrance, but he soon got into the swing of things & eased into a swim.

He looked like he was really enjoying himself & soon disappeared from view popping up some time later across the other side of the waterway.

He swam back over to the bank & exited- not particularly elegantly I must say!

We packed up & headed for breakfast. It was only 6:45am & we were wrapped!!!
