Christmas Licked
LYNCHPIX
Regular collaborator Joanna Della-Ragione & I were teamed again.
–
Back on the food trail we headed up to Finchley, North London & the Waitrose Cookery School.
It’s a journey we’d made Previously. This time last year Jo participated in a “lessons in fish” course. This time around we had a festive angle preparing & cooking a full Christmas dinner with all the trimmings.
–
We started in the studio where professional chef John explained the various processes Jo & the other guests were to accomplish.
From the straightforward to the more informative, such as little tricks to knowing when your bird is completely cooked through.
Then they headed out to their workstations & got stuck in with the mountain of ‘prep’ before the cooking commenced.
–
–
With everything cooking away, John gathered the class over to his passe for a fantastic masterclass in carving your bird.
Before the guests pulled out their own efforts.
–
I gotta say our Jo did a cracking job. She had really struggled with the fish course last time round, but her finished roast was the stuff of champions!
–
Then came the best part- the eating!
Lovely Jo even prepared a plate for me too!
–
I can confirm that it tasted every bit as good as it looks. And we both came away with some great new techniques to impress this festive period. Failing that, i’ll be heading round Jo’s Christmas Day!
–
ENJOY!
